A 6,400sf salon at the base of a supertall skyscraper with glazed walls, 15’ high ceilings and prime views of 57th Street, the salon is laid out as a bustling great room with visual connections between the reception, coloring, styling and wash areas. A grand bookshelf with John’s personal book collection mingles with retail displays of art books, jewelry and beauty products amongst the customer tables. Red terrazzo, wide plank floors and a ceiling grid with free-form lights allow a flexible field for easy reorganization. The everchanging rotation of art, books, and beautiful objects redefined our client’s salon as a gathering space where patrons can discover and enjoy new things.
