The homeowner desired a more functional kitchen with increased storage, new lighting and appliances. Our goal was to transform a dark and out-of-date kitchen into a beautiful, efficient space by reconfiguring the hallway and a large portion of the master closet. A niche closer to the living area also serves as an accessible bar for entertaining. Separating tall elements from the original galley kitchen, the new design provides uninterrupted counter space and preserve views of the East River, where a small breakfast nook, one of our client’s favorite features, was rebuilt with banquettes that concealed storage.
