RRA designed this apartment in a neo-Gothic building just south of the Museum of Natural History to accommodate the tastes and lifestyle of a couple with a large book collection. Rooms were reconfigured and excess doorways lining a long hall were converted into bookshelves. Original plaster and wood moldings and capitals as well as the stained glass windows were stripped and restored. Bedrooms, bathrooms and kitchen were renovated and updated with custom millwork details and furnishings to complement the original architecture while creating a modern gracious home.
